On Feb. 28, Kingston Middle School hosted another successful Career Day event for eighth-grade students.
We had professionals representing nine different career fields, which was based on student interest data. Students attended three different presentations and had the opportunity to learn more about job tasks and outlook, related high school course work, and education and/or training requirements.
The following community members took time from their work day to visit KMS and inspire our future work force:
- Anthony Jones, lawyer for the Tulalip Tribes and member of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe.
- Sophia Bonomi, reporter for Kitsap News Group.
- Michael Buholz, chef at The Loft.
- Cyndi Greenlee, nurse practitioner at Peninsula Health Care.
- Jeff Menge, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.
- Heather Carrell, Navy school liaison.
- Rebecca and Anna, American Sign Language teacher and interpreter, Kingston High School.
- Rachel Strohmeyer, veterinarian.
- Janelle Randles, Russell Fergus, and Assistant Chief Rick LaGrandeur, North Kitsap Fire & Rescue.
Special thank you to the members of Kingston Rotary Club for helping support the Career and College Readiness program at Kingston Middle School.
On behalf of KMS staff, we send our sincere thanks and appreciation.
