This was “Bridge Week” on the Clear Creek Trail. Monday, about a dozen volunteers came out for Martin Luther King Day of Service and planted trees up along the Birkenfeld Bridge at the north end of the trail. It really looks nice. After the work was over, the folks gathered for some wonderful soups provided by Task Force members.
On Saturday, seven hard-working youth from the Alternatives to Detention Program put in the decking and railings on the new Markwick site bridge. They also chopped down a lot of blackberries and spread some gravel. It’s always fun to work with these kids.
While they were working, Ron Ross hauled out his excavator and moved and set the new bridge in the north fields. Ron is real handy with that machine. The bridge is part of Michael Garrett’s Eagle Scout project.
We are blessed with wonderful volunteers who come out and support their community. To our friends and Task Force members, thanks a million.
