The heart of Breidablik continues to beat

Because of the dedication of so many, the heart of Breidablik will continue to beat in every school in the district.

Thank you …

To Lisa Schuchart and Nancy Bale, middle-school librarians four days a week and Breidablik librarians one day a week, who carefully, compassionately and publicly developed the library closing plan and spent countless volunteer hours throughout spring to ensure that every single book and treasure in the Breidablik library found a new home in the 10 other district schools …

To the library staff from the other schools who volunteered after-hours at the Breidablik library to respectfully go through the collection, all the while making sure everything was left in place until the regular library closing time in June …

To the teacher-librarians in the receiving schools who are giving welcome to Breidablik students and who are making sure that Breidablik artifacts are in place to greet our kids in the fall …

To Glen Robbins, master storyteller and beloved Breidablikian, for taking care of the library classes the last few planning days so Lisa and Nancy could work together to finish the massive task of cataloging, rehoming, and packing more than 18,000 books, materials, and artifacts in the final days …

To Brenda Ward for securing the time in June for teacher-librarians to finish the work …

To the staff, students and families for your years of supporting and loving “The Heart of Breidablik.”

Because of the dedication of so many, the heart of Breidablik will continue to beat in every school in the district.
