Let me see if I understand this correctly. The bond is needed due to overcrowding at South Kitsap High School and for “projected growth” in the area, due to houses that have not yet been built or sold.
What happens if there is another financial meltdown and the houses are not built or sold? Also, as I understand it, the crowding in the current high school was caused all or in part from moving ninth-grade students from middle school.
That being said, what happens if the school board decides it wants a shiny new middle school? Will they move ninth-graders back to whatever school they deem necessary in order to create overcrowding as required?
Asking the South Kitsap School Board how much money they need to run the schools is like asking one of the students how much his or her weekly allowance should be.
