I wanted to send congratulations to the North Kitsap Herald Editorial Board for the objectively written “In Our Opinion” editorial published Feb. 2 (“Tracking campaign commitments,” page A4).

The editorial was refreshing as it cited specific commitments that our mayor, Becky Erickson, has stated as a “To Do” list. Even more importantly, the North Kitsap Herald has stated that it will track the progress of these commitments.

In addition, I would like to see this same kind of objective reporting directed toward commitments made by our state representatives — and again periodic tracking of their progress.

Thank you, and I look forward to seeing the progress reports in future editions of The Herald.
