As reported by the Herald on Friday, Dec. 10, a task force of concerned Poulsbo citizens just completed two year’s worth of hard work and study, submitting a report on Poulsbo trails to the City. This is the start; now the City Council and Mayor need to translate the well-thought-out recommendations into action. Many parts of Poulsbo allow you to easily walk or cycle to shops, schools and transit points. But Poulsbo is behind the curve in actually incorporating walker and cycling safety and usability considerations into every design and road improvement. Trails aren’t just for the woods; they’re needed for safety, convenience and access wherever people move about. Poulsbo now has a good plan; let’s get going.
