Trump is correct in vilifying the talking heads

I’m on my way again to work in Seattle. Sitting on the bus at 5:50 a.m. on a given weekday, where it’s still dark and folks are starting their day, I see the flicker of television screens in the windows. The news is on those big screens, and the viewers are getting their first dose of bias oriented information.

But the information is tainted.

The corporate news media speak in mark step with the same powerful message. I guess it’s always been that way. For years, the masses have enjoyed the easiest noise and sight on television, quietly accepting it all as true. The seemingly innocuous entertainment that streams into our homes, with what some would actually believe was a choice. But the lies are all the same; the omissions are all the same.

There are countless resources in the blogosphere where a reader can gain valuable insight into views not aligned with the mainstream media. The writings and videos enable a separate objective reference where the corporate media’s collective algorithm is not present. MSNBC or Chris Matthews or Lester Holt simply get no mention whatsoever.

I can’t seem to understand why many citizens are hell-bent on tearing apart the office of President Trump. I have attempted to unravel the logic, or lack of, through discussion with my peers. There is no substitute for open discussion or dialogue when it comes to perception. Though I realize many of the youth today fall victim to group think, by way of peer pressure and conjecture. Groups tend to make decisions about avoiding risk differently than when individuals are alone. Ergo, the phenomenon of Black bloc, the anarchistic movement whose participants don dark clothing, masks and hoods, then march down main street breaking windows and setting fires in the name of whatever they don’t agree with. I would aver that none would go it alone in those acts of violence.

But the mainstream media is largely the culprit. President Trump is correct in his vilification of the talking heads. The media’s message is one-sided. You hear and see. You cannot join the discussion. And the message is always the same. Anti-Trump. Anti-Conservative.

For over eight years, the media have conveniently avoided discussion of Obama’s shutdown of the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Agency. The agency was ordered to stop enforcement by Obama’s administration. Now Donald Trump has re-ignited the Border Patrol’s enforcement, which just happens to be the law of the land. No amount of liberal rationalization is going to change the rules, unless it’s through legislation — in spite of the opinion of any sanctuary city mayor, judge or governor, the law will stand.

Editor’s note: ABCNews.com reported on Aug. 29, 2016: President Barack Obama has often been referred to by immigration groups as the “Deporter in Chief.” Between 2009 and 2015 his administration has removed more than 2.5 million people through immigration orders, which doesn’t include the number of people who “self-deported” or were turned away and/or returned to their home country at the border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). … According to governmental data, the Obama administration has deported more people than any other president’s administration in history.
