The North Kitsap Friends of the Library is eagerly seeking book donations for its Used Book Sale at the Poulsbo Library on June 18.
We have found that book donations have decreased due to two likely factors: (1) people are putting used books in the blue “Books for Charity” containers throughout the county (this organization does not benefit our local libraries); and (2) many people now use electronic means to read their books, so they no longer have as many physical books to donate.
Funds from our used book sales benefit our Poulsbo Library in many ways. We sponsor the Summer Reading Program, Keeping Up with Technology series, and we purchase many needed items for the Poulsbo Library including magazine subscriptions, the large pull-down screen for the community room, and additional lighting for upstairs.
Please bring your gently-used books, music CDs, and movie DVDs to the checkout counter and mention that they are for “Friends of the Library book sales.” You can also request a donation slip for tax purposes.
The North Kitsap Friends of the Library meets the first Monday of every month (except July and August) at 9:30 a.m. in the meeting room at the Poulsbo Library. Membership is only $5 a year. We invite you to join us and we greatly appreciate your donations!
