This November, we will get to vote for the kind of government we want. It is appropriate to consider the government we have now and the qualifications of those seeking office.

Individuals with “experience” on planning boards and commissions and other appointed government committees are well versed in the concepts of central planning and will most likely reflect that in their decision making.

The very core of “central planning” is in direct conflict with protection of individual rights. If you like government control of your life in deciding where you live, how you are able to use the fruits of your labors, and rely on government solutions to resolve most of your problems, those are the people to vote for. If you are more inclined toward a lifestyle involving personal responsibility, self-reliance, personal accountability, self-discipline, and real choice in how the fruits of your labors are used, you might well consider the other candidates. You only get to choose if you vote.

I prefer real leadership instead of directorship. In this election, my vote is going to Ed Wolfe for County Commission. I also support Phil Cook, Tina Robinson, Tim Sheldon, Scott Henden and James Olsen.
