Last February, more than 1,200 spectators were logged at The CVG Show, one of Bremerton’s most ambitious, and prestigious art events in recent history.
More than 250 artists submitted work from 58 cities across the state, and the resulting juried show hung throughout the month at Collective Visions in downtown Bremerton, in tandem with artist lectures, concerts in the gallery and a swanky awards banquet.
In the end, the 10 winners (first, second and third place in each category, as well as Best of Show) took home a combined $6,000 in prize money while the Collective Visions received a rousing response to keep it going.
So with another $6,000 and statewide notoriety up for grabs, The CVG Show is preparing for 2009.
With noted artist, critic and Artistic Director of the Gage Academy of Seattle, Gary Faigin, serving as juror, entries are now being accepted in the categories of 2D, 3D and Photography for a fee of $35 per entry, through the Western States Art Foundation Web site www.callforentry.com. (For those not wishing to use the web entry system, the gallery will accept traditional slides, CDs and photographs by mail for an extra processing fee of $15).
The deadline for entries is Nov. 20. The show will exhibit in February 2009.
