The winners of more than $9,000 in cash prizes and purchase awards in the 2015 CVG Show were announced Jan. 24.
Under the lights of Bremerton’s Admiral Theatre, in front of nearly 300 people, the award recipients were celebrated in what Bremerton Mayor Patty Lent described as “Bremerton’s Oscars ceremony for the visual arts.”
Masters of ceremonies were Elliott Gregg, president of the Kitsap Credit Union; and Alan Newberg, Collective Visions Gallery member artist.
It was CVG’s eighth annual show.
“Everyone who has seen this exhibit agrees that this [was] the best CVG Show yet,” Newberg said. “It truly is a museum-quality show.”
But the show must go on.
All 126 art pieces will be on display through Feb. 28 at Collective Visions Gallery, 331 Pacific Ave., Bremerton. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Call 360-377-8327 for more information.
Images of all of artworks in the show including the award winning pieces, a list of participating artists and a schedule of events can found at www.CVGShow.com.
The CVG award season isn’t quite finished. One honor remains. Voting for the $300 People’s Choice Award, which began Jan. 24, continues through Feb. 27 until 5 p.m.
The show will conclude on Feb. 28.
