The movie “The Seeds: Pushin’ Too Hard,” will appear one night only on Saturday, Aug. 13 at the Dragonfly Cinema in Port Orchard.

Neil Norman, a musician, composer, actor and director, created the motion picture, which tells “the fantastic, gleeful, tragic tale of 1960s garage rock wunderkinds”, The Seeds.

The band, which topped the Seattle record charts in 1967, is credited with creating the idea of “flower power.”

The film chronicles the career of the band’s frontman, Sky Saxon, who is a prototypical rock god who lived life to excess, then paid the price for it.

The film follows the band’s rediscovery decades later by new generations of garage-rock fans through vintage televised concert performances.

The documentary includes rare photos and recent interviews with all of the group’s original members.

Showtime at the Dragonfly Cinema, 822 Bay St., is 7 p.m. on Aug. 13.
