Live theater is returning in Kingston.

It starts this weekend at Wolfle Elementary with the classic Charles Dickens’ tale of old Ebeneezer Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet-to-Come. The Kingston Repertory Theater, a North End non-profit formerly known as the Roving Players, dedicated to community productions and theater education has regrouped and rented out an old barn across the street from Wolfle for rehearsals and eventually performance. But for their first production, the Kingston Rep is partnering with Wolfle and putting on “A Christmas Carol” at the elementary, donating a portion of proceeds from ticket sales to the Wolfle PTA.

North Kitsap theater vet Scott Snively is directing and starring as Scrooge in the production while the fifth grade classes from Wolfle Elementary will add traditional and holiday carols to the timeless Christmas tale.

Centered around what is for most, the most joyous day of the year, Scrooge is bitter and bill collecting on Christmas Eve until the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet-to-Come visit the old man in hopes of bringing kindness to his otherwise cold heart.

As the ghosts remind him of the man he used to be, the harsh truth of the world today and what will happen if he doesn’t change his ways, Scrooge realizes the error of his ways, saves Christmas for little Timmy, and everyone lives happily ever after.

The show opens at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6, showing through Dec. 20 with curtains at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and one Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 14. Tickets are available online at www.kingstonrep.com.
