Live music will highlight Saturday evenings in August when Kingston Concerts on the Cove come to Mike Wallace Park at the Port of Kingston. The free concerts will be a festive addition to Kingston community life, since Tunes on Tuesday will no longer be held.
The Downtown Kingston Association and Port of Kingston are sponsoring Kingston Concerts on the Cove. Community organizations and businesses have stepped forward to help sponsor the concerts, but more fundraising is still needed. To donate and for sponsorship information, contact Deb Boardman at (360) 731-9619 or debboardman@windermere.com.
The concerts take place 7-9 p.m.
Aug. 2, House of Cards, sponsored by Kingston Kiwanis and Wetter Family LLC
Aug. 9, U.S. Navy Band, sponsored by community donations
Aug. 16, Foggy Bottom Jazz Band, sponsored by Kingston Stakeholders
Aug. 23, Blues Counselors, sponsored by Kingston Rotary Club
Aug. 30, Island Jamz, sponsored by donations to the Downtown Kingston Association

The Aug. 30 concert wraps up the Concerts on the Cove series and the Downtown Kingston Association along with Mike’s Four Star BBQ is offering a benefit buffet barbecue dinner. The menu includes spare ribs, beef brisket, Carolina-style pulled pork, chicken, coleslaw, beans, salad, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and potato rolls.
Cost for the barbecue is $25 for adults, $12 for children. Tickets will be available at the Kingston Chamber of Commerce, Windemere Real Estate, American Marine Bank, John L. Scott Real Estate and the Port of Kingston.
