A bear sighting on Central Valley Road near Fairview Junior High School was reported to the state Department of Fish and Wildlife Monday morning.

As a precaution to families in the areas of Cottonwood, PineCrest and Woodlands Elementary schools, Fairview Junior High and Olympic High School, Central Kitsap School District suggested parents may want to review their safety plans with their children. Parents were alerted by the district through its e-News e-mail system and automated phone calls.
