Blue Creek will open two weeks early for hatchery cutthroat trout, steelhead

Anglers are reminded that access to Blue Creek is by foot either from the mouth or from the trail at the trout hatchery boat ramp parking lot.

Action: Open Blue Creek to fishing for hatchery trout and hatchery steelhead.

Effective Dates: Nov. 14 through Jan. 31, 2013.

Species affected: Hatchery cutthroat trout and hatchery steelhead.

Location: From mouth upstream to posted sign just above rearing pond outlet.

Reason for action: Hatchery cutthroat trout and hatchery steelhead in excess to hatchery brood stock needs are available for harvest.

Other information: Daily limit is 5 trout.  Minimum size is 12 inches, no more than two over 20 inches. Release wild cutthroat and wild steelhead. Release all salmon.  Night fishing closure and anti-snagging rule is in effect.

Fishing is open to all anglers.  Anglers 15 years of age and older must have a Columbia River Salmon and Steelhead Endorsement.
