Artists from 40 cities across the state of Washington, 113 in all, have been accepted into Bremerton’s Collective Visions fourth annual state-wide juried arts show.
The competition is the largest juried art show held in Kitsap County and one of the largest in the state, according to a statement from the gallery. The show opens Tuesday, Feb. 1.
More than 700 works of art were submitted by 224 artists prior to the Nov. 18 deadline,.
Dennis Peacock, a professional metal sculptor from Shelton, will serve as juror for this year’s competition.
Peacock will narrow the submissions to 129. Accepted artworks will be delivered to the gallery Jan. 21 and 22. The next task will be to choose the art works to receive the $6,000 purse of cash prizes. Visitors to the gallery at 331 Pacific Ave., Bremerton, can cast ballots for a $300 people’s choice award. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and during February, from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
