Families attended the 50th anniversary celebration of Central Kitsap Junior High School Tuesday, perusing relics from past students.
For some it was a trip down memory lane, for others it was a chance to learn about the halls their parents once roamed.
Annuals from each school year dating back to 1959 lined tables in the cafeteria and a black-and-white slideshow projected on a large screen.
Ruth Lamb-Schold, a member of the first graduating class, returned to greet current administrators and teachers, including her grandniece, Laura Foster, a language arts, social studies and special education teacher.
Lamb-Schold has spent the better part of her adulthood in Kitsap County.
“I never left,” she said.
