Come hither for a merry time at June Faire

In a kingdom called An Tir, in the Barony of Dragon’s Laire, the subjects of the Society for Creative Anachronisms celebrate their medieval adventures. June Faire will take place Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

PORT GAMBLE — In a kingdom called An Tir, in the Barony of Dragon’s Laire, the subjects of the Society for Creative Anachronisms celebrate their medieval adventures.

For those in the 21st century that attend, they know An Tir as Port Gamble, and will revel in  the 30th annual June Faire this weekend, with food demonstrations, tournaments, Middle Ages vendors’ booths and entertainment.

June Faire will take place Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The entry fee is $5 per person, ages 11 and under are free. The Society for Creative Anachronisms, according to their website, is an international not-for-profit educational organization that studies and preserves the culture of the Middle Ages by re-creating it.

There will be food demonstrations; woodworking and metalsmithing; jewelry and weaving; spinning and sewing; storytelling; and archery and sword-fighting tournaments.
