BREMERTON — “Jurisdiction,” a docudrama filmed entirely in Bremerton, premieres Sept. 14, 7:30 p.m., at the Admiral Theatre, 515 Pacific Ave., Bremerton.

The cast and crew will be at the premiere, according to executive producer Navdeep Maju, who also had a role in the film as character James Delgrado.

The film was directed by Himesh Bhorgo and stars Kyler Bowker as Richard, Gregory Fyhr as Sunny Johnson, Charles Hamilton as Chief Pugg, Robert McAllister as Tommy Tongue, and Alisha Otis as Venessa Johnson.

The 50-minute film won an Award of Merit at The Indie Fest.

According to www.jurisdictionthemovie.com (you can buy premiere tickets and view the trailer there), the story takes place in a small town where drug dealing has gotten out of hand. The police department must stop it before it gets out of their jurisdiction, hence the title.

The film’s tagline is “A broken system. A shattered life.”  While it’s described on Internet Movie Database as Documentary | Short | Action, it’s described on its Facebook page as a dark comedy.

Kitsap Week’s favorite plug for the film:  “Best Independent Film Ever Shot In Bremerton!”
