On July 28, are you going to go take this year’s Ladies Aid Garden Tour? You should. Right here in our little village you’ll find some pretty spectacular plantings, growings, and placement of statues and carvings and, well, you just never know what you’ll find.
Another fun thing: the gardens are named and you’ll find addresses and a map on the ticket. The tickets are a $10 donation to the Hansville Ladies Aid (it’s tax deductible).
– Misty Meadow Gardens: This woodland garden has many surprises and covers several acres. Look for the delightful outdoor bunk house that was built for the grandchildren.
– Maria’s Garden: Here you’ll see a wonderful backyard with fountains and, of course, flowers; plus a patio that will make you want to just sit and enjoy the view. It is surrounded by several acres of natural forest.
– Monopoly House Garden: This garden has amazing grasses in the front yard and the back has a view of the water plus several garden areas with a variety of trees, bushes, and unusual plants. Quiet places are available so you can sit and enjoy your surroundings.
– Rose Hill Farm: A lovely garden with a lovely outdoor dining area surrounded by roses and other perennial flowers.
– Three Seaside Gardens: Beautiful flower choices and garden art on the waterside and on the street a wonderful circle driveway that is graced by complimentary landscapes.
– Prague Spring: A woodland garden built around the special home and it all looks like it belongs in another country.
The garden tour isn’t our only fun thing to do in July in Hansville.
– July 4, 8:30-11:30 a.m.: the Red, White and Blue breakfast.
– July 6, 10 a.m.: Hansville Historical Society meeting.
– July 14, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Last drop-off before Hansville Rummage Sale, Aug. 11-12.
– July 22, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Free Show and Shine Car Show, and Picnic in the Park, with live music, children’s games and really good food for purchase.
So, there you have the schedule. Call all your relatives and invite them to our neck of the woods for some family fun. Hansville is calling.
