Is this the year you are going to add color to your landscape? Are you looking for some interesting plants to perk up your yard? How about a gorgeous perennial border to welcome spring? If you are planning any of these garden projects, then the Kingston Garden Club plant sale is the place to shop.

This annual event will be held 9 a.m. to 2p.m. Saturday, May 3 at the Kingston Community Center. Get there early for the best choice of plants and bring boxes to carry home purchases.

Last fall, Kingston Garden Club members began dividing their prize perennials, potting them up for this spring’s sale. Annuals sown from seed, as well as ground covers, are part of the wide selection of plants to choose from. Larger shrubs will be grouped outside the main entrance of the building. There will also be large handmade pots for sale, with the proceeds going to Kingston Revitalization Association, which funds Kingston’s beautiful hanging baskets.

The wide array of plants and shrubs gathered together for this one-day sale is astounding. Plants are grouped according to sun or shade and garden club members are available to answer questions on specific plants. Local nurseries have also contributed plants for the sale, including Foxglove Nursery, Sacks Feed & Garden and Dragonfly Farms Nursery.

Tickets are also being sold for raffle baskets. There will be a variety of baskets available, full of gift certificates and garden goodies. This sale is the Kingston Garden Club’s largest fundraising event. Proceeds help fund the Aloha Wright Grant Program, which awards grants for scholarships and community beautification projects.
