See how singer-storyteller David Walburn and friends became some of the last Americans to homestead in Alaska’s wilderness in “Cabin Songs: An Alaskan Adventure.” The show, based around the premise of the Homestead Act of 1862, will start at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 at Bremerton’s Admiral Theatre, 515 Pacific Ave. Walburn’s message is that in America, few dreams are beyond reach if you are willing, as the homesteaders were, to “prove up!” Tickets are $12, $35 for a family pack. After three previous sold-out shows, folk party band Gaelic Storm will return to the Admiral Theatre, bringing upbeat vocals, energetic dance tunes, Celtic ballads and Irish madcap humor. The group shot out of the neighborhood pub scene to international success in 1997 after their lively appearance in the steerage scene of “Titanic.” Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m., the show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23. The Cedar Heights Drama Club presents “Alice in Discoland” at 7 p.m. Jan. 15, 2 p.m. Jan. 16. and 6 p.m. Jan. 16. Performances will be at the school Commons, 2220 Pottery Ave., Port Orchard. The show is directed by Cedar Heights Junior High School social studies teacher and drama club advisor, Ryan Yingling, and adapted and written by his brother, Scott Yingling, South Kitsap High School’s theater arts instructor. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students, $4 for students with an ASB card, $2 for children 5-11 years, and free for children 5 years and under. The Bainbridge Chorale Young Singers present “Here, There and Everywhere,” a concert of international spirited folk songs performed by two youth choirs. The show will run from 3-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24 at Rolling Bay Presbyterian. Tickets are $10-$15. All ages are welcome.
