Friends of the Library announce summer sale date

The Kingston Friends of the Library annual summer book sale will be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on July 18 at the Kingston Farmers Market. This is the Kingston Friends’ biggest fundraiser of the year, according to Linda Morse, and more books, DVDs and CDs are needed for the upcoming sale. Donations are accepted throughout the year. Bring donations to the Kingston Library. If the library is not open, donations can be put downstairs under the steps at the Kingston Community Center. Donors who are unable to bring books to the Kingston Library or the Kingston Community Center can call the library at (360) 297-3330 and a member of the Kingston Friends will be glad to pick up the donation. Unfortunately, Morse said, no Reader’s Digest books, encyclopedias or magazines can be accepted. Donations are accepted throughout the year.

All book donations are tax deductible. Forms for the deduction can be picked up at the Kingston Library. For more information call the Kingston Library at (360) 297-3330.

“All books and money from the Kingston Friends of the Library benefit our local library,” Morse said. The Kingston Friends help fund the summer children’s reading program, special programs, author events and many other items for our library that the Kitsap Regional Library is not able to fund, she pointed out. Part of the funds raised will also go toward the building of a new library as part of the Village Green project.

Kingston Friends of the Library meets at 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Kingston Community Center, but there are no July or August meetings. The next meeting is on Sept. 8.
