The Hometown Band is capping off its season of holiday concerts with a performance in Hansville.
Band members packed around their trombones, drums, flutes, clarinets, good cheer and much more from Gig Harbor to Bainbridge Island this month.
The final show is Dec. 22, 2 p.m. at the Greater Hansville Community Center, 6778 Buck Lake Road.
“It will be a mix of holiday tunes and some sing-alongs, and at the end we always play ‘Sleigh Ride’ and everybody gets to hand out sleigh bells and we make a lot of noise,” Jas Linford said.
The Hansville performance aims to make sure that the holiday spirit continues on an upbeat vibe.
“Come have fun. It’s not just a serious concert, when you clap when things are done,” Linford said. “Everybody is supposed to have a good time.”
With two sets, totaling 19 songs, the band has something for everyone.
“There’s a little bit of everything,” Linford said, listing off the range of holiday songs planned for the event.
“We will start off with a Hanukkah piece, then ‘It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas,’ then there’s a Polish Christmas carol,” he said. “And this year for the first time we will play ‘Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.”
