Kingston’s Country Christmas takes place Dec. 13 from dawn to dusk with activities going all day, all over town.
Santa’s Breakfast at Wolfle
The Wolfle Elementary School PTA in Kingston once again offers its annual Santa’s Breakfast 8:30-11:30 a.m. Dec. 13 at the school on Bond Road. The menu includes eggs, pancake, ham, juice, coffee and tea. Cost is $4 per person or $15 for a family of four. Pictures with Santa are available.
Santa taking wishes
The Greater Kingston Kiwanis club will host Santa Claus for the day, who’ll be seated in his throne 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 13 to take gift wishes from children on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Kingston Community Center. Photos with Santa to capture the moment also will be available.
Art walk along West Kingston Road
Two art studios and the Kingston Art Gallery celebrate Kingston Country Christmas with open houses along West Kingston Road. Downtown at Cleo’s Landing on Highway 104, the Kingston Art Gallery features its 19 artists from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a third anniversary celebration, Winter Wonders‚ at its Second Saturday Gallery Night 5-8 p.m. Enjoy refreshments, holiday music from a Seattle string trio and fine arts.
One block west at West First Street, Betty Claire opens her Earthdance Pottery showroom and studio from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a warm fire and treasures created with her hand-thrown clay techniques.
Up West Kingston Road another block is Marilyn Liden Bode’s printmaking studio on the beach where six artists will display work 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Yacht club decked out decks and on parade
In conjunction with all that’s going on for Country Christmas, the Kingston Cove Yacht Club will be hosting a Christmas boat decorating party and a Boat Parade Dec. 13. The public is invited to come down to the Port of Kingston’s guest dock, check out decorated boats and come aboard for cookies and hot cocoa during the Kingston Cove Yacht Club’s annual event before and after the tree lighting in Mike Wallace Park. Weather permitting, boats will head out for a Christmas Cruise and create a parade of lights. For more information, contact the yacht club at (360) 297-3371.
Lighting the tree at Mike Wallace Park
At dusk, a North Kitsap Fire & Rescue truck will escort Santa to Mike Wallace Park at the Port of Kingston marina for the ceremonial lighting of the port’s Christmas tree. There will be small bonfires to keep warm by.
The Hometown Band in concert
Local favorites The Hometown Band wrap up festivities with a holiday concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at Redeemer United Methodist Church, located on the corner of Parcell and Shorty Campbell roads off Highway 104. Free admission.
