The Kitsap Harbor Festival helps open boating season May 25 and 26 in Bremerton and Port Orchard.

The Kitsap Harbor Festival helps open boating season May 25 and 26 in Bremerton and Port Orchard.

Several thousand people are expected to attend the two-day event. The Bremerton-Port Orchard foot ferry will operate every 30 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. Fare is $2 each way. Participate in the Murder Mystery or wear a costume and get a free ferry ride.

Among the highlights in Bremerton: 
— On the boardwalk, more than 50 booths featuring food, crafts and interesting new and familiar items.
— KidZone.
— Kitsap 4th Street Market.
— Kitsap Car Cruz.
— Historic military vehicle display.

Among the highlights in Port Orchard: 
— Murder Mystery activities for adults and children.
— 25th Seagull Calling Event and wings cookoff. 
— Port Orchard Farmers Market and Fathoms O’ Fun.
— Free movies.— Waterfront Park dedication ceremony.
— Navy Band Northwest “Deception Brass.”— Cloak & Dagger Ball.
