About 70 youngsters got a taste of the NBA when they attended the first-ever Marvin Williams Attack Youth Basketball Camp this week at Bremerton High School.
The four-day clinic tipped off Tuesday and concludes Friday, with players ages 5 to 18 learning the fundamentals from 2004 Bremerton graduate Marvin Williams.
Williams, who is a forward for the Atlanta Hawks and was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, chose to host the camp, in part, because he had no such opportunity while growing up in Bremerton.
In addition to feedback on their game, campers received autographed photos and other prizes. Williams said Tuesday he hopes to make the camp an annual tradition, though plans have yet to be finalized for another clinic in 2011.
