PORT ORCHARD — Tonight’s weekly Concerts by the Bay performance at the Port Orchard Waterfront Park gazebo is so out-of-the-ordinary, it will feature a guy named Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Well, the long-departed Mozart, the Austrian classical composer for the ages, won’t be there at 6:30 p.m., but members of Kitsap Opera will be at the Port of Bremerton Marina Park on the Port Orchard waterfront to perform some the master’s greatest musical compositions.
The opera company, which will feature performers John Eric Rutherford, Kristen Swenson, Regina Thomas, Lee Anne Frahne, Emily Riesser and Meg Daily, will share slices from his life and perform scenes from the opera “Magic Flute,” “Marriage of Figaro,” “Don Giovanni” and “Cosi Fan Tutte.”
The theatrical and musical performance of “Mozart!” will run until 8 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Fathoms O’ Fun Festivals organization and the City of Port Orchard.
Concerts by the Bay performances are free to attend.
