A few weeks ago the Kitsap Sun ran an article with pictures of some of the lovely old barns in Kitsap County.
Only one barn in the North Kitsap area was pictured, and that was a Poulsbo barn.
Our picture this month is of one of the lovely old barns in the Kingston area. It is the Forsyth barn on the farm at the corner of West Kingston Road and Miller Bay Road. This farm remains in the Forsyth family. It was homesteaded in the early 1900s.
We enjoy seeing the cows with their newborn calves in the field there every spring. As you tour along the roads in the North Kitsap from Poulsbo north to Hansville, look for many of the other barns built years ago. Several of them are still well maintained and in use.
