PORT ORCHARD — The Daughters of the American Revolution plans to honor Vietnam veterans at the Eagles’ Military Appreciation Dinner at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9.

The DAR honored 72 Vietnam veterans at the 2016 appreciation dinner and 127 more ceremonies at the Retsil and Port Orchard American Legion. Veterans who missed out on the events are asked to get in touch with the DAR. The organization now has pins for surviving spouses, as well.

William Reeder, author and last POW in Vietnam, will discuss his book, “Through the Valley, My Captivity in Vietnam” at the dinner.

Those wishing to attend are asked to submit their full name and branch of service to DAR regent Dorothy Reinhart at 360-871-4216 or cougmom@hotmail.com, or to Eagles Aerie #2338 at 360-876-2338, or poeagles2338@gmail.com as soon as possible, so the DAR can order certificates and lapel pins.
