Wineries from around Kitsap County will assemble in downtown Poulsbo to promote local purchases next week.
Eight wineries from Bainbridge Island, Poulsbo and Port Orchard will participate in the Poulsbo Wine Walk from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8.
The event costs $10 per person, which includes a commemorative wine glass and wine tasting from each winery. Appetizers will also be available to accompany the wine. Guests can pick up a wine glass to begin their evening at Sogno di Vino, 18830 Front St., Poulsbo.
The Wine Walk is an effort to help revitalize downtown Poulsbo while promoting local wines, said event coordinator Tom Pelland.
“This was created to try and remind people there is still a downtown, just like the Poulsbo Street Dance,” Pelland said.
This is the first Wine Walk in downtown Poulsbo, but if enough people participate in the event, this will not be the last, Pelland said.
Participating wineries include: Perennial Winery, Eleven Winery, Rolling Bay Winery, Liberty Bay Cellars, Eagle Harbor Wine Co., Victor Alexander Winery, Fletcher Bay Winery and Sorensen Cellars.
“This is all about local,” Pelland said. “Hopefully everyone who is involved will enjoy themselves and benefit from it.”
