Rusty reminders of busier days | Picture This | March

Grass-infused concrete, rusty rails and a few old tin roofed buildings are what remains at the tip of the old Point No Point resort in Hansville. The site is currently under review for a new boat ramp and a new lease on life.

The area is a favorite for bird watchers because of offshore feeding grounds adn a nearby marsh. The beach is large and fairly sheltered from the rapidly alternating currents.

The old resort still contains the essence of busier days, including a rusty and silent scale, old fishing poles and fiberglass dinghies. The area is still open to the public, a few RVs sit connected to the land and summer visitors fill the parking area as they venture to the sandy beaches. The old Point No Point resort sits mostly quiet today and remains a favorite spot to visit and photograph.
