Victor was born at 9:48 a.m. at Harrison Medical Center in Silverdale, and weighed 8 pounds 13 ounces. He is the son of Kaylah Durbin and Andrew Franco of Seabeck, and the grandson of Erica Malone and Dennis Durbin.

Victor beat his own due date by a day, his dad said. “His name is Victor, so he had to get off to a victorious start in life, ” his dad quipped while en route to his civilian job at Kitsap Naval Base — Bangor. “Mom and baby are doing just fine. There are nothing but smiles at our house.” Victor is the couple’s first child.

Andrew said the hospital checked with Naval Hospital Bremerton, and confirmed no baby had been born there before Victor’s arrival. Salmonberry Birth Center in Poulsbo reported that its first birth of the year was on Jan. 4.

Harrison Medical Center presented mom, dad and baby with a wicker gift basket filled with baby clothes, toys, food and a bottle of sparkling cider.
