Kitsap Regional Library’s “Three Months of Summer Learning” begins June 1. Keep a record of how much you read this summer and earn prizes. Come in or visit our website to learn more.

n Book Group: 10-11 a.m. June 7. “The Woman Upstairs” by Claire Messud.

n Walking Club: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 9 and 23. Wear walking shoes and bring a water bottle for a fun and invigorating urban walk.

n Mountain Travels in the Wide, Wide World: 2-3:30 p.m. June 10. Author Steve Sieberson has traveled extensively in search of exotic summits and he has written about his experiences in “The Naked Mountaineer — Misadventures of an Alpine Traveler.” His colorful slides and readings from his book will be of great interest to climbers, armchair adventurers and anyone who loves travel.

n Kingston Friends of the Library Meeting: 10 a.m. June 12. The Kingston Friends support our library. Call the library for information on donating books for their book sales.

n Kingston Writers Group: 6:30-7:30 p.m. June 13. Enjoy a friendly, supportive atmosphere to encourage writing.

n Ukulele Lessons: 10:30-11:30 a.m. June 17 and 24. Learn the basics of the ukulele. Registration is required as space is limited. Plan on attending all five sessions. Bring a pen or pencil, paper, and your ukulele. If you would like to borrow a ukulele from the Library, call 360-876-2224.

n Family Storytime: 10:30-11 a.m. June 19 and 26. Early literacy learning activities.

n Baby Storytime: 1-1:30 p.m. June 19 and 26. For babies 0-18 months and their caregivers.

n Classics Book Group: 6:30-7:30 p.m. June 19. “The Code of the Woosters” by P. G. Wodehouse.

Little Boston branch

n Book Group: 1-2 p.m. June 7. “The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary” by Simon Winchester.

n Crafternoon: 2:30-3:30 p.m. June 7, 14, 21, and 28.

n Happy Little Trees Adult Paint-a-long: 1-2:30 p.m. June 14. Learn to oil paint in a group setting. We provide the materials; you wear your painting outfit. Call or register online.

n Family Storytime: 10:30-11 a.m. June 20 and 27.

n La Famille Léger : 1:30-2:15 p.m. June 28. La Famille Léger plays the old kitchen party music of the Acadian communities of Eastern Canada. In addition to playing lively tunes on the fiddle and accordion, La Famille Léger will show old-fashioned story scrolls featuring puppets and paper cutouts, called “crankies.”
