The Arts | Birds of driftwood fly a colorful sky at Collective Visions

Throughout the month of May, the downtown Bremerton branch of the Kitsap Regional Library will feature European watercolors by Michelle Van Berkom. The artist will be present during the First Friday Art Walk, from 6-8 p.m. May 7. A portion of sales will be donated to the Library Foundation. “Libraries have always been special places for me,” Van Berkom said in a press release. “As a farm girl in Minnesota, I used to go to the local library and let books transport me to the exotic places I dreamed of. Later, as a sailor traveling to those exotic places, curling up on my bunk with a novel brought me that comforting feeling of being home. When my sailing days were over, it was at the Olympic College’s Haselwood Library that I found a new home.”
