NAVA UNDERSEA MUSEUM: The Naval Undersea Museum will participate in the fifth annual Museum Day, presented by Smithsonian magazine, on Sept. 26. The Naval Undersea Museum explores the fascinating story of the U.S. Navy’s heritage, operations, and science in the depths of the world’s oceans. Major exhibits interpret submarine technology, the ocean environment, torpedo and mine technology, and Navy diving and salvage. The current featured exhibit is entitled Trieste: The Deepest Dive and commemorates the 50th anniversary of the descent of the submersible Trieste to the deepest point in the world’s oceans.
