Walk to end MS in Poulsbo, April 8

POULSBO — Team up with loved ones, friends and co-workers in Walk MS: Poulsbo this weekend. You’ll help end multiple sclerosis and change the world for those affected by the immune-mediated disease.

Multiple sclerosis, or MS, attacks the central nervous system and can affect balance, muscle control, vision and other basic body functions. Symptoms include fatigue, pain, vision loss, and impaired coordination. MS can be treated, but there is no cure.

Walk MS: Poulsbo will take place from 9 a.m. to noon April 8 at Muriel Iverson Williams Waterfront Park in downtown Poulsbo. The walking site opens at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.

New this year, Walk MS: Bainbridge Island and Walk MS: Kitsap County have united to form Walk MS: Poulsbo. By unifying the local community at one central location, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society combines a shared vision of a world free of MS, in Kitsap County.

More than 20 teams are registered, with the top three teams — Team Lisagor ($5,210), Team Susie ($4,750) and C’estas ($4,640) — raising almost $15,000.
