Anna Hoey’s ‘Unexpected Landscapes’ at Old Town Custom Framing, on the Old Town Art Walk, tonight from 6-8 p.m.

An artist’s inherent challenge, according to Bremerton native Anna Hoey, is “to constantly explore and evolve.”

And it’s a task which she readily accepts.

A formally trained professional artist, Hoey works in a wide variety of media in her art — watercolors to graphite, acrylics to gauche to pastel — and her subject matter is just as diverse. Her quest: to make the viewer wonder about the subject and the way it is interpreted through her work.

There should be plenty of wonderment to go around on the Old Town Art Walk as Old Town Custom Framing hosts Hoey’s newest work under the flag of “Unsuspecting Landscapes,” 6-8 p.m. June 12, 3255 NW Lowell St.
