The famous, much loved and enjoyed Bainbridge Island garden of David Lewis and George Little is in its last season at the current site. Internationally known Little and Lewis are embarking on a new set of adventures. They’ll still design and install gardens and will continue to create their art consisting of sculptures, mirrors and paintings. This talented team is creating a smaller garden and gallery at a new Bainbridge Island location.
They’re encouraging us all to visit their current garden at 1941 Wingpoint Way on Bainbridge Island on special open days this summer. The days are without an appointment, just stop by, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 21, July 12, July 13 and Aug. 6. July 26 is a special open day through the Garden Conservancy for $5 admission. All other open days are free. In addition, clients wishing to purchase or commission sculpture can still make individual appointments for Thursdays through Sundays by calling (206) 842-8327 or e-mailing info@littleandlewis.com.
Little and Lewis have been sharing their talents and garden with visitors from all over the world for more than 16 years. They’ve been generous with their time and talent in support of the Bainbridge Island Arts and Humanities Council, Bainbridge in Bloom, Environmental Learning Center at IslandWood, and have shared their skills, knowledge and expertise with many local communities over the years. They’ll continue to take commissions for sculptures, mirrors and paintings for clients and galleries as well as consult on garden designs. They’re planning to expand the sales of their works from their home and gallery in San Miguel de Allende, a hillside town in Mexico.
Traveling to new locations is one of their favorite pastimes. They’re now sharing their enjoyment of travel, art and gardens with the public. The Little and Lewis Web site at www.littleandlewis.com states they spend as much time as possible in San Miguel de Allende at their home there. This colonial town in Central Mexico is rich in history, folk art, culture, shopping and good food. Temperatures are mild year-round.
