Great food and fun times await at Kitsap Fair and Stampede, Aug. 21 to 25!

New features include a wide variety of concessions and an educational display on local farms.

In Kitsap County, the end of summer heralds one of the region’s most anticipated events: the Kitsap Fair and Stampede. What began in 1923 as an agricultural showcase has evolved into a vibrant celebration of community spirit, drawing thousands each year.

This longstanding event – running Aug. 21 to 25 – owes its success to a dedicated team of organizers, sponsors and volunteers who come together to create a memorable experience for everyone.

“The success of the Kitsap Fair and Stampede truly takes a village,” says Fair Manager Cindy McKay. “Our volunteers work tirelessly, and we couldn’t do it without our generous sponsors.”

Indeed, local businesses such as Haselwood Auto Group are vital to the fair’s success. Each year, the local dealership sponsors Kids Day, allowing children aged 6 to 12 to attend for free on Saturday. Agate Asphalt sponsors the opening night of the rodeo, while Geico’s local office supports Military Day/Patriot Night.

Other notable sponsors include Integrity Roofing and Construction for the Xtreme Bulls event, Kitsap Credit Union for “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” night, Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort for the Main Fair Stage.

Returning favorites + exciting new features

This year’s fair promises an array of attractions and entertainment.

Returning favorites on the performance stage include the Vuelta La Luna Circus, Sweet Justice and local magician/hypnotist Kevin Wolfe, alongside new acts such as Tropical Sensations and the JJ Luck Band, while concertgoers are looking forward to performances from Heart by Heart, Warrant, Midland and Drake Milligan.

Three nights of PRCA Rodeo are scheduled will bring plenty of cheers, plus a morning of Xtreme Bulls, and a livestock auction where local youth showcase their prize-winning animals.

In addition to the usual attractions, including livestock and exotic bird displays and handcrafted exhibits in the Presidents Hall, new features include an expanded selection of food concessions and an educational agricultural display highlighting local farms – an exhibit aiming to deepen public appreciation for the region’s agricultural heritage.

The Kitsap Fair and Stampede has continually adapted and grown over the decades. From its roots as an agricultural fair to becoming a premier event for PRCA cowboys, the fair has hosted legendary acts including Johnny Cash and Tanya Tucker. Recent years have seen significant improvements, including new buildings and facilities, enhancing the fair experience for attendees.

As the fair celebrates its rich history and looks towards the future, it remains a cornerstone of the Kitsap community.

“The Kitsap Fair and Stampede is all about community,” McKay says, “it’s a place for people to showcase their talents, businesses, and agricultural roots. The fair brings us together and reminds us of where we came from and where we’re headed.”
