KINGSTON — Kitsap County Sheriff’s investigators believe two suspects burglarized a boosters’ club concession stand and a restaurant in Kingston last week.
One suspect, a 19-year-old Kingston man, was arrested Saturday. He was booked into Kitsap County jail on $10,000 bail. The second suspect, a transient minor, has not yet been arrested.
Kingston High School security staff discovered a concession booth near the track burglarized on the morning of April 14, according to a Sheriff’s Office report. Plywood covering a window of the booth had been pried back and the window was shattered. Food and clothing were missing from inside. The high school Athletic Booster Club operates the booth.
The Grub Hut restaurant on State Route 104 was burglarized early Friday morning. A passerby first reported the break in at 7:15 a.m. according to a Sheriff’s Office report. The responding deputy found that a pane of glass in the front door had been broken out.
Video surveillance provided to the Sheriff’s Office by Grub Hut’s owner showed two suspects with women’s nylons obscuring their faces approach the entrance at 2:15 a.m. The pair disappeared out of the camera’s view for a brief time before one of the suspects used a piece of concrete to break the glass door. The pair entered the restaurant and took money out of the cash register.
According to the report, the 19-year-old was interviewed by a deputy Saturday and admitted to his involvement in both burglaries.
