2 hospitalized after apparent DUI collision near Poulsbo

Two people were hospitalized following a head-on collision near Poulsbo just before 5:30 a.m. June 30, with the incident being investigated as a DUI, per the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

A Subaru Impreza was traveling southbound in the 16000 block of Viking Way NW when it crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic, colliding with a northbound Toyota RAV 4 head-on, a KCSO Facebook post states. A witness told deputies the Subara’s driver, a 19-year-old man, appeared intoxicated.

A blood draw was obtained from the driver who was taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale for treatment. The woman driver of the RAV 4 was also hospitalized.
