Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kitsap County rose to 224 infections Monday, making June the worst month since March.

A total of 10,900 residents have tested negative for COVID-19 — of those tested, the positive test rate is just above two percent. June has seen a total of 60 cases added by the public health district, a sharp jump compared to the previous month which only saw 11 new cases. Of the cases reported in June, 39 have been reported in the last two weeks.

Of the 224 cases, 13 have been reported on Bainbridge Island, 78 in Bremerton, 34 in Central Kitsap, 45 in North Kitsap and 54 in South Kitsap. Two coronavirus-related deaths have been confirmed by Kitsap Public Health District as well.

The age breakdown for confirmed cases is as follows:

0 – 19: 12

20 – 29: 46

30 – 39: 27

40 – 49: 35

50 – 59: 52

60 – 69: 26

70 – 79: 16

80 and older: 10
