A notorious Kitsap County club and resaurant owner won’t see any rowdy nightlife for a while.

Scott Hlinka, 37, the onetime owner of Harborside Bar and Grill on Bay Street, Studio 21 Nightclub and Lounge in Bremerton and Pizza Time restaurants in Port Orchard and Bremerton was recently sentenced to three months in jail after pleading guilty to theft, unlawful imprisonment and other charges.

According to court documents, Hlinka entered an Alford plea to the charges, meaning he did not admit guilt but acknowledged that he could be convicted at trial.

The unlawful imprisonment conviction was for an August domestic violence incident in which he locked his girlfriend in the bathroom of Itza Pizza Time on Lund Avenue and wouldn’t let her out. An employee who heard the scuffle and the woman shouting to call police notified authorities.

Then in late October, the owner of the building at 1386 Lund Ave. where Itza Pizza Time was located called the sheriff’s office to report that Hlinka had vandalized the building shortly after his business was evicted. Hlinka ripped out sinks, breakers and an oven hood assembly from the restaurant, causing $9,184 in damage to the location.

Hlinka is no stranger to problems with the law. After taking over Harborside Bar and Grill — now Moon Dogs, Too — in 2004, he quickly drew the attention of law enforcement as the bar gained a reputation for fighting, underage drinking and noise complaints. The bar soon shut down after he had trouble renewing his liquor license.

In 2010, Hlinka — calling himself “Scott Rocc” — opened Studio 21 in Bremerton. The nightclub was quickly doomed after a patron was shot outside the bar, city noise citations were issued and a lawsuit brought by his business partner all came down within five weeks of the nightclub’s opening.

On Jan. 3, Hlinka pleaded guilty in Kitsap County Superior Court to charges relating to the criminal incidents at Pizza Time, which included a theft charge for repeatedly writing bad checks to pay employees.
