On Tuesday, the Kitsap Public Health District confirmed 60 new COVID cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the countywide total to 18,519 since the pandemic began in March of 2020.
Of the new cases, North Kitsap had 11 and Bainbridge Island two; 19 were in South Kitsap, 18 in Bremerton; and 10 in Central Kitsap.
Over the last week, the county’s case rate per 100,000 residents is 116.8. A total of 185 cases are in their recommended “isolation period” (10 days after first symptoms.) To date, the number of Kitsap County residents who have initiated vaccination is 70.1%.
Of the 18,4519 cases, 660 have been reported on Bainbridge Island, 4,988 in Bremerton, 4,103 in Central Kitsap, 2,875 in North Kitsap and 5,880 in South Kitsap. 13 cases have come from “unknown” areas of the county.
There have been 252 COVID-related deaths since the pandemic began and 206 this year. Details on the most recent death have not yet been provided. Of the previous 251 deaths, 97 were ages 80 and older, 61 ages 70-79, 47 ages 60-69, 32 ages 50-59, 10 ages 40-49 and four ages 30-39.
