On Tuesday, the Kitsap Public Health District confirmed two more COVID-related deaths, bringing the countywide total to 323 since the pandemic began in March of 2020.
Details on the two most recent deaths have not yet been provided. Of the previous 321 deaths, 128 were ages 80 and older, 79 ages 70-79, 61 ages 60-69, 35 ages 50-59, 14 ages 40-49 and four ages 30-39.
Additionally, 42 new COVID cases were confirmed in the previous 24 hours, bringing the countywide total to 38,827 since the pandemic began.
Of the new cases, North Kitsap had eight, and Bainbridge Island none; seven were in South Kitsap, 10 in Bremerton; and 14 in Central Kitsap. Four of the cases came from “unknown” areas of the county.
Over the last week, the county’s case rate per 100,000 residents has dropped significantly to 80.5. To date, the number of Kitsap County residents who have initiated vaccination is 77 percent.
Of the 38,827 cases, 1,778 have been reported on Bainbridge Island, 10,350 in Bremerton, 8,966 in Central Kitsap, 5,888 in North Kitsap and 11,674 in South Kitsap. 171 cases have come from “unknown” areas of the county.
