POULSBO — An 83-year-old Bremerton woman was taken to the hospital after a botched lane change in front of a dump truck sent her car into an embankment and on its roof Wednesday afternoon.
The right lane of State Highway 3 was closed for about an hour-and-a-half following the wreck.
The woman, driving a 2002 Subaru Legacy, was driving south on the highway approaching Sherman Hill at about 1:40 p.m. and passed the 2003 Western dump truck on the left, according to a statement from the State Patrol.
When changing back into the right lane, the Subaru clipped the front of the dump truck, which was pulling a trailer. The car rotated, struck the dirt embankment and rolled on it side.
The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old Port Orchard man, was not injured.
The woman taken to Harrison Medical Center for cuts, bruises and a sore neck and back. She was cited for an unsafe lane change.
