A 16-year-old Poulsbo boy was placed in juvenile detention and an 18-year-old Central Kitsap man were arrested and booked in jail April 2 for stealing a friend’s parents’ white BMW . The 16-year-old driver didn’t have his license and was issued a traffic citation for driving the wrong way on a one way street in East Bremerton.
The vehicle was impounded by Silver City Towing. The parents were notified and reported the vehicle as stolen. They did not know the 18-year-old but said the 16-year-old was “bad news.”
The 16-year-old was placed in juvenile detention and booked for taking a vehicle without permission and driving without a license.
The 18-year-old was placed in jail for taking a vehicle without permission. His bail was set at $25,000.
Too busy to
make it back
A 15-year-old Kingston girl was arrested and booked into juvenile detention for stealing her aunt’s silver Dodge Durango.
On March 31, the aunt reported to deputies that she had instructed the girl to drive her vehicle from a Silverdale restaurant, where they had dinner, to a friend’s house. The aunt stayed late to have a few drinks at the bar.
The aunt was concerned because the girl never made it to the friends house and hadn’t heard from her since.
On April 1, deputies found the Durango parked outside the Shell station on Chico Way. One of the front tires was flat and the windows were frosted over, indicating to deputies it had been there for a while.
The next day deputies apprehended the girl on NW Bucklin Hill Road with two other males. Her breath smelled like alcohol and all three were suspected of dine-and-dashing from Shari’s restaurant.
Deputies were notified that the girl and one of the males had run from cops the night before behind All Star Lanes Bowling Alley.
The girl was booked in juvenile detention for taking the vehicle without permission, minor in possession, resisting arrest and making a false statement.

Mom has pot
Kitsap County Sheriff deputies were dispatched April 3 after a 14-year-old boy reported his 34-year-old mother was growing marijuana in their Poulsbo home.
The boy told deputies he was upset at his mom and wanted her to do the right thing.
The mom told deputies her son was upset because he didn’t want to have to go away to school.
Deputies inspected the home for any marijuana plants. The mother’s room smelled like marijuana. According to police reports she said she smokes it in her room and pointed to the evidence in the ashtray.
When they reached her bedroom closet, she became agitated and told deputies they needed a search warrant to go in there but later changed her mind.
Inside the closet was a small growing operation of 10 immature plants.
Deputies collected the plants for evidence. No arrest was made at the time. The report was forwarded to the prosecutor for review and a copy was also sent to Child Protective Services.
