POULSBO — Jacob Patterson — or, rather, his car — experienced the fury of the Nov. 2 windstorm that blew through the region.

Lainie Hammond sent in this photograph she took of a large 2.5-foot diameter tree that fell on Patterson’s car near Knight Road, near the Puget Sound side of Bainbridge Island.

“It just missed a house and four other cars,” Hammond wrote.  “It also crushed a shed that was in the property … Pictured is Jacob Patterson. His Saturn was demolished.”

The Nov. 2 windstorm downed trees and power lines and caused power outages in North Kitsap.

Kitsap County Fire District 18 — aka Poulsbo Fire Department — reported a high-voltage power line down on Pioneer Way, reportedly from 8:45 a.m. until Puget Sound Energy shut it down at about 8:30 p.m. “This was one of only about five power-line calls in the Poulsbo area … but many parts of the county were hit harder and kept PSE busy,” the department reported on its Facebook page.

North Kitsap Fire & Rescue reported power lines “afire” on Bond Road at Minder Road between Kingston and Poulsbo, and at the intersection of Munson and Howard avenues in Jefferson Beach.

Power outages were reported in parts of Kingston. A large tree blocked NE 272nd Street near Kingston; a large tree brought down a section of power lines on Klabo Road between Seatter and Jefferson Point roads.

Here’s what to expect this week, according to the National Weather Service: Highs at 50 and lows in the low 40s through Friday, with 20-60 percent chance of rain.
